Best Selling Author
From a mischievous baby boomer child growing up in a poor working class Northern mining village, through reluctant academia at Manchester university and a succession of jobs in accountancy and engineering, I suppose that in many ways it was inevitable that I would eventually make my living from my one true passion in life – fishing.
Time waits for no one and sadly, ambition and age often travel in different directions as life’s focus changes.
My passion has now become writing, not just novels, but short sharp commentary pieces on a variety of subjects, unrestrained by the strictures of wokeness and politically correct nonsense.
I can take the knocks, God knows I have had enough of them, so feel free to shoot from the hip with your comments.

None like this.
This book was bought for a Fathers Day gift because he’s known Billy Makin all of his fishing life. Full of nostalgia, relevant old fishing tales.
The best action novel I have read.
From start to finish, it seems like an auto biography and not a fictional novel. Brilliant and unexpected ending.
Billy Makin is a great commentator of our times and has an incredible wit.
